There are represented the areas of spiritual and patriotic education of the modern youth in the anniversary year of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Special attention is paid to the innovation forms. There are shown the social and cultural challenges and revealed the risks that lead to quasi-patriotism, which requires the constant pedagogic support.

There is attempted to represent the logical and grammatical study of the Stoics which unfortunately can be considered only theoretically because nowadays we have only some fragments from the logical works of the representatives of the Ancient Stoics or interpretations of later authors. There are analyzed the presentation strategies as the instruments of a politician’s image formation at the early stage of election campaign. They are divided into self-presentation and media presentation. There are considered both existence and discursive aspects, i.e. the current speech activity of a politician and the way it is reflected in TV news of the basic Russian TV channels.

There is considered the specificity of archaisms functioning in the letters of Russian authors of the XIX-XX centuries. There are revealed the stylistc functions of archaisms, contexts that favour the ironic or pathetic tonality of speech. There are stated the peculiarities of authors’ epistolary style regarding archaisms use, as well as the tendencies of changes in the use of archaisms during the two centuries.

There is considered the role of nouns of the Ukrainian origins in the formation of the vocabulary system of Don dialects. Close geographical position and long contacts between Don Cossacks and the Ukrainians couldn’t but favour complicated linguistic processes which resulted in formation of the unique lexical system with the equal role of the words of the general East Slavic origins and the lexical units that appeared in the dialects in the period after differentiation of the Russian and Ukrainian languages.

Based on the Don Cossack dialects from various aspects there is considered the image of a Don Cossack which is represented by language means that reflect his appearance, character, social and family position, attitude towards him.

There is considered the issue of the regional peculiarities of the lexical and semantic and toponymic systems that nominate the natural realities of the Samara Volga region. For the thematic groups “Forest”, “Pond”, “Terrain”, “Soil” there are determined the general Russian and dialectal lexemes that reflect the main properties and signs of the natural landscape. The dialectal names create the basis for the linguistic landscape of the region and its historical and geographical image.

There are described the theoretical issues of functioning of the nomenclature units of the Russian language. Based on the vocabulary from various thematic groups of the agricultural sphere there are analyzed the peculiarities of nomens formation which denote the realities of plant growing in various periods of the history of Russia and the Russian language: the period of formation of the Russian centralized state (late XIII - early XVI centuries), XVIII, XIX centuries, Soviet and modern periods. There is emphasized the close connection of the nomenclature denotations and agricultural terms.

There is carried out the linguistic analysis of famous expressions as the object of phraseology. There is given the critical review of special literature. There is suggested the author’s opinion on the debatable issues of the theory of phraseology: specified the scope of phraseology, determined the criteria of phraseological nature of famous expressions, used the structural and semantic classification of the researched material, made the conclusion about famous expressions as an important source of phraseological contents of the language.

There are analyzed the differential and integral signs of the notions “converse pair” and “word-formative pair” that make up the contents and methodological basis of the semantic and derivational approach in the conversion study. There is made the conclusion that the notion “word-formative pair” in relation to the notion “conversion pair” appears as the way to determine the derivational relations of the derivative conversions with the aim to demonstrate word-formative instruments in construction of the language semantic system.

The issues of the Austrian dialects description, their vocabulary research and the prospects in the Austrian national variant of the modern German language are still urgent and scientifically significant. The author relies on the point that at present the Vienna dialect is the leading and the most prestigious Austrian dialect. There are revealed the basic peculiarities of its vocabulary, given the classification of the dialectal lexical units and the conclusions about the language transformation processes in the Vienna dialect.

There is described the methodological approach to the linguistic diagnostics of message reliability in the course of a psychological and linguistic expertise. The urgency is determined by the need to develop the valid methodology aimed at establishment of speaker’s attitude to the information transmitted not only from the position of truth/falsity of a message but also from the point of fullness and character of speaker’s knowledge about the information given (epistemic purpose).

There is considered the popular medical recommendation as a hybrid genre of institutional communication that combines the medical, mass informational and pedagogic discourse. The medical component of this discourse is represented thematically, the pedagogic one is represented strategically, and mass informational is represented according to the ways of communicative implementation. The structure of such a recommendation includes the basic component (direct speech action and its explanation) and corresponding components: attractive headline, introduction that covers the main point of the issue, disclaimer that limits the author’s and publisher’s responsibility for the information, competent opinion of experts concerning the theme, an appeal to disseminate this information.

There are suggested the definitions of such genres of the entertainment discourse as “cybertale” and “cyberfable”. The characters of cybertales are imaginary personages, while the cyberfables are based on real events. Both of the genres are represented by fantastic stories of the didactic character describing the cyber era. Based on the comic character they are defined as humorous, characterized by the entertaining purpose. The comic effect is achieved by the lexical repetition implemented by psittacism of scientific terms.

There are represented the variants of traditional elements use in the modern children’s literature; described the way to create the conditions for the vanguard transformation of traditional genres.

There is considered the novel by an English writer Ian McEwan “The Child in Time” in the aspect of comprehension of time as the global cultural problem. Special attention is paid to the motive of fight with time, the past that hasn’t been overcome, the motive of lost time that interacted in the narration by McEwan in the artistic reflection of the previous and modern natural science conceptions and philosophic and aesthetic views on the issue of time.

There are described various forms of reception of the existential philosophy of A. Camus in the novel by J. Barnes “The Sense of an Ending”. The combination of these forms reveals the polemic character of perception of this philosophy in the modern period.

There are considered the issues of influence of the ethnic culture and folklore tradition of the Ossetians. The motives that represent the compositional and plot gist of various folklore genres are of great interest as a particular metaphoric code which helps in modeling the world picture of the researched ethnos. There is researched the motive of the wonderful bead (Цыкурайы фæрдыг) fixed in the folklore and ethnography of the Ossetians.

There is given the analysis of the history of paleoanthropology of the Sarmatia tribes living in the South Russian steppes in the early Iron Age period. Special attention is paid to the review of the works devoted to the research in the sphere of some applied scientific areas of the physical anthropology: osteology, demography and paleopathology. The historiographic research showed that since the end of the XX century scientists have been using alternative methods along with the classical methods of bone remains analysis. At present the future of the domestic physical anthropology is in complex interdisciplinary research that combines the results of natural science and humanities.

There is considered the issue of formation of teaching staff at higher schools of the Lower Volga Region in the 1930s. There are revealed the peculiarities of teaching staff selection at specialized higher schools, analyzed the general tendencies of the process at the institutes of the Lower Volga Region in this period.

The establishment of Cossack educational institutions in Russia met the demands of the Cossack revival movement and was one of the directions of ethnocultural education development in the system of Russian school. The dynamic development of these institutions showed their relevance in the society. But the discrepancy of the goals and tasks of the Cossack revival movement passed to the Cossack educational institutions.

There are covered the beginnings of the first theatre in Caucasus - the Stavropol Academic Drama Theatre n.a. M.Y. Lermontov. In the historical literature the cause-and-consequence relation is poorly studied. By analyzing the empiric material there is described the significance of the drama art for the sociocultural component of the province town of the XIX century, revealed the grounds for development of the drama spirit and the ideas concerning their implementation. There is shown that the drama art played the fundamental role in the city culture formation and favoured the idea, moral and artistic education of the North Caucasus society of the XIX century.
