Holistic approach to education: modern vision
The article gives reasons for the lack of demand for a holistic approach, the key approach to the methodology of pedagogy, with all its fundamentality and the availability of a sufficient theoretical base created by leading researchers in pedagogy since 1970s to the present. The author claims such approach to be relevant due to the necessity of its application to new theoretical developments and the demand of modern practice for the development of personality, individuality and subjectivity.

John Dewey's contribution to understanding the concept and professional training of a new teacher
The article looks upon the pedagogical heritage of the American teacher John Dewey (1859-1952), who received the title of“the teacher of teachers” in his lifetime, which remains relevant in modern philosophical and pedagogical discourse. The author highlights the huge impact of Dewey's ideas on education in many parts of the world. The content of the materials of the Chicago Archive, namely the course “History of Pedagogy”, the notes on the organization of a problem lecture and the concept oftraining ofthe teacher-researcher are analyzed.

The activities of the counselorin the conditions of the upbringing environment of the children's recreation camp
The article presents the analysis ofthe content ofthe concept of“upbringing environment” and substantiates the expediency ofits creation in the conditions of a children's recreation camp. Based on the analysis ofthe content ofthe“Specialist in the field of education” professional standard, the three types of the counselor activities united by the idea of leadership in the children's team are summarized and systematized, namely the activities of the counselor in the children's recreation camp, the activities ofthe senior counselor and the activities of the counselor of the children's public organization.

Professional and personal self-development of the prospective teacher as a condition for creating an educational environment in the summer camp
The article highlights educational significance of summer recreation camps. The role of the prospective teachers' professional and personal self-development in the creation of an educative environment in the conditions of the summer camp is revealed. The author demonstrates the influence of the components of the counselors’ professional and personal self-development on the elements of the educational environment of the summer camp. The results of a survey ofstudent counselors are presented showing the stimulating influence of summer camp teaching practice on professional and personal self-development.

Patriotic education by means of vocal art in the PRC
The article presents patriotic education by means ofvocal art in the People's Republic of China at the current stage. The author gives an analysis of the works of Chinese teachers who explore the pedagogical potential of vocal performance for solving the problem of the patriotic education ofmodern youth. The research results by domestic scientists on the role of vocal art in teaching the students of the new millennium to be patriots are thus complemented.

The problem of the readiness of preschool teachers to non-directive interaction with parents in the framework of the educational process
The article presents an analysis of the concept of “non-directive interaction”. The principles of interaction between the pre-school educational institutions and the family in the context of a non-directive approach are considered. The author determines the measure of awareness of preschool teachers in the matter of non-directive interaction, as well as their readiness for this form of interaction with parents. An example of the use of mobile applications to create a trusting relationship between the teacher and parents is given.

The article analyses the concept, purpose and structure of the electronic information and educational environment ofthe university. The authors consider the principles of the priority development of the organizational and technological components of the electronic information and educational environment, as well as the possibility ofimplementing these principles through the creation ofa social educational network and instrumental platforms functioning on its basis. On the issue of training of counselors in modern Donbass
The article looks upon training of school summer camp counselors as a relevant issue for modern Donbass. Preserving the traditions ofthe training of school camp counselors in the conditions ofa military conflict is regarded as important for all participants ofthe summer health campaign. The development of a mentoring system in the professional education of teacher students
The article reveals the concepts ofupbringing and professional education of teacher students, as well as the tasks that have to be achieved. The author substantiates the importance ofthe development of mentoring in the professional upbringing of teacher students, proposing the main directions of such activities for further study. The experience of the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University in the implementation ofextracurricular projects related to the development of mentoring is described. On some conditions for the successful delivery of the unified state exam in a foreign language
The article gives a detailed account of the specificity of the unified state exam (USE) in a foreign language. The authors claim that the peculiarity of USE lies in the fact that all tasks simultaneously check the level of acquisition of certain types of speaking skills and the vocabulary of the examinee. It is claimed that for the successful implementation of USE tasks it is necessary to have a high level of formation of communicative skills and abilities and a rich vocabulary which requires serious and systematic training.

Emotive syntax: typology of phraseological syntactic models
The article deals with the nature of phraseologization in syntax as applied to emotive syntactic models of the Russian language. Functional features of pauses in foreign language speech, implemented in a state of emotional stress (experimental study)
The article presents the research results of an experimental study aimed at identifying vegetative and linguistic correlates in unprepared dialogical speech of students in a foreign language. The types of pauses are considered (a pause revealing the meaning, a false repetition pause, a correcting repetition pause), implemented in a state of emotional stress. Their structural, semantic and functional features are analyzed.

Communicative risks of using emotiogenic headlines in Russian media political discourse
The article explores the news format based on the technology of ridicule used in modern Russian media political discourse. The author presents the results of the news analysis carried out with the psycholinguistic theory of dominant scenarios to identify ways and means of emotional and speech impact on the target audience. As a result of the research, the communicative risks of using emotiogenic media texts were determined.

Positive communicator: key features and typical behaviour
The paper is part of a broader research aimed at the study of constituent features and mechanisms of positive communication. Its goal is to create a verbal portrait of a positive communicator in the Russian sociocultural context and to outline the peculiarities of positive human interaction. The research shows that the key features ascribed to a positive communicator by respondents of a survey carried out in the process of investigation are optimism, empathy, activism, leadership, ingenuity, inner harmony and intellect.

Positive communication in social networks: development trends
The article deals with the issues of emotive linguoecology as applied to the communicative space of social networks. The authors examine the examples of text messages characterized by a positive tone appearing on the general background of negative content in social networks, which can be perceived as a definite tendency to restore the emotional-ecological balance in the virtual communication of Internet users. Positive communication is postulated as a significant component of the harmonization of a person’s physical and spiritual health and as a condition for the betterment of the nation as a whole.

The images of grievance in Russian lexis and phraseology

The semantics of the word "pity"
The article presents the semantic analysis of the word “pity”. It is shown that, in addition to the traditionally distinguished value of prototypical pity denoted by the lexeme “pity”, there exists another meaning of the lexeme under study. The author claims that “pity” denotes a complex feeling in which there are elements of a condescending or contemptuous attitude towards shortcomings, limitations, etc. of the object to which the subject experiences this feeling.

Proper name as an emotive phenomenon
The article deals with the theory of emotivity developed by V. I. Shakhovsky which is applied to the analysis of Russian anthroponyms. The author shows that proper names are able to connote acquiring additional expressive and evaluative meanings. The author specifies that personal names have three forms: full (official), short (used by family members) and diminutive-augmentative or meliorative-pejorative. It is claimed that V. I. Shakhovsky’s method can be applied to the analysis of other types of proper names (toponyms, ergonyms, etc.).

Linguistic necrophilia in modern Russian public discourse
The article considers a variety of speech aggression which is not reflected in the definitions of this phenomenon proposed by different authors. The author proves there is a kind of speech aggression which represents an extreme case of negative emotionality and is characterized by hatred of the object of evaluation and the desire to destroy it. To denote this phenomenon, the term "linguistic necrophilia" is proposed.

Empathy as a linguo-ecological factor in the medical profession
The article looks upon the doctor’s need for empathy as a linguistic and ecological factor in the relationship "doctor ↔ patient". The author considers the problem of establishing the required psychological contact with the patient by the doctor as well as building the most acceptable relationship with him on the basis of clinical and linguoecological aspects of activity, which is confirmed by the results of patient interviewing and linguistic analysis of television programs.

Meanings of the “dream” in Russian poetry of the end of the XVIII - the first third of the XIX
The article deals with Russian sentimentalism. The author looks upon the poetic “dream” which at first leads away from the illusory earthly life, but, having received cognitive functions, returns to life again. The author claims the idea of the flight of the “dream” in romanticism connects the poet with other national poetic chronotopes. The same logic is used in Anacreonticswhere the poet realizes the “native” nature as a national spiritual “soil”. Departure from life and inclusion into it suggest each other.

The topology of the fictional space in "Bakluzhinsky cycle” by E. Lukin
The article explores the topology of the fictional Suslovsky region, the key assumption of the “Baklyuzhinsky Cycle” by E. Lukin, a science fiction writer from Volgograd. In the process of studying geographic images, the author tracesa tendency towards their neomythologization. It is concluded that the chronotope of a literaty work is subordinated to the goals of satire.

Travelling and its glorification in the student subculture of the Trans-Urals of the middle of the XIX - beginning of the XX centuries
The article presents the analysis of children's passion for travel based on the materials from the Trans-Urals of the middle of the XIX - early XX centuries. The author shows that lack of schools, which led to the students’ regular long-distance trips, as well as reading adventure literature, aroused students’ keen interest in travel, broadened their mind and liberated their consciousness. On the other hand, it is pointed out that one-sided emancipation provoked deviant offenses.

“The food issue” in the system of priorities solved by the provincial administration and city self-government during the First World War (illustrated by the case of the Astrakhan province)
The article explores the joint work of the provincial administration and city government of Astrakhan during the First World War and the extreme difficulties the two governing bodies faced due to their opposing political views. A number of episodes of their joint work to solve the "food issue" are analysed. The conclusion is made about the lack of coherence in the work of the provincial authorities and city self-government, despite a number of successful outcomes in the city authorities’ combating the food crisis.
