The article presents the analysis ofthe content ofthe concept of“upbringing environment” and substantiates the expediency ofits creation in the conditions of a children's recreation camp. Based on the analysis ofthe content ofthe“Specialist in the field of education” professional standard, the three types of the counselor activities united by the idea of leadership in the children's team are summarized and systematized, namely the activities of the counselor in the children's recreation camp, the activities ofthe senior counselor and the activities of the counselor of the children's public organization.

The article presents the approach of the Volgograd State Socio-Pedagogical University to the organization of quasi-professional activities of students in the framework of their preparation for the summer teaching practice.
