The article presents the analysis of the approaches to understanding the structure of competence as the subject of assessment in the process of mastering a university educational programme. It proves the expediency of application and correct combination of the strategies of the modular, formative, cumulative, authentic, automatized and summative assessment of competences during the training period at the university.
