The article explores the topology of the fictional Suslovsky region, the key assumption of the “Baklyuzhinsky Cycle” by E. Lukin, a science fiction writer from Volgograd. In the process of studying geographic images, the author tracesa tendency towards their neomythologization. It is concluded that the chronotope of a literaty work is subordinated to the goals of satire.

The article gives a scientific commentary on the book by D.N. Medrish “Journey to Lukomorye. Pushkin’s Fairy Tales and Popular Culture” (1992), deals with its contribution to Pushkin studies and the importance of the methodological approaches of the author to the issue of literary folklorism.
