There are analyzed the presentation strategies as the instruments of a politician’s image formation at the early stage of election campaign. They are divided into self-presentation and media presentation. There are considered both existence and discursive aspects, i.e. the current speech activity of a politician and the way it is reflected in TV news of the basic Russian TV channels.
