The article deals with the issues of training future teachers to work with temporary groups of children, the main aspects of the organization of counsellor’s practice, which is an integral part of the professional and pedagogical training of future teachers. The article deals with the verbal labels (lexical (idiomatic) language units performing the pejorative function) on the example of the election discourse of the candidate in presidents of the Russian Federation Ksenia Anatolevna Sobchak. The language features of election discourse are in the focus of modern linguists in terms of their impact on voters, the use of labels reflects the political position and candidates’ views on various issues.

The study is based on the texts of the Astrakhan regional socio-political weekly “Fact and Compromising”. The invective function (function of insult) is presented as a way to induce to act, because insult aims to get a reaction from the recipient and to confirm or improve the status of the one who insults. It is shown that the criterion of invectives of the zoonymic vocabulary can be the position of a zoonym as addressing.

Special attention is paid to the analysis of the main discursive characteristics of the Internet meme. The main discursive features of the Internet meme are emotionality, anonymity, clip art, stylistically reduced character and media character.

The article presents the distributive analysis of the field-forming units of the Paralympic vocabulary in the modern English language: it describes their lexical and grammatical compatibility and functional features that allow to specify the information about the semantic content of each lexical unit.

The article analyzes the online “Oxford English Dictionary”: the history of the largest academic dictionary of English, the principles of modern editorial work. The lexical units published on the website in 2016 in “Additions” to the dictionary (Updates) are studied. Lexemes are analyzed and classified according to such parameters as subject and regional affiliation, time of appearance, type of word formation.

The author analyses and systematizes fixed expressions in the French, Persian and Russian languages that express the concept “work”. Special attention is paid to functioning of this concept in the studied linguistic cultures.

The article deals with the typological characteristics of the Chinese and Russian languages from the point of the theory of isolating languages by V.M. Solntsev. It proposes the criteria for the comparative analysis of the Chinese and Russian languages. It is concluded that the differences in typological characteristics cause specific difficulties and errors in translation, which actualizes the issue of developing a didactic system of teaching Chinese-Russian translation.

Today there are several Tatar-English dictionaries, the compilation of which is caused by the actual requirements of the expansion of the multilingual Russian-Tatar-English language environment in the Republic of Tatarstan. The general characteristic of all available dictionaries at the level of macro- and microstructure is given.

In this regard, the lexical meaning and inner form of the words denoting the periods of the annual cycle of the Evenks are under consideration in the article. It substantiates the position that the lexical meaning and the internal form of the words denoting the periods of the annual cycle of the Evenks have a set of such groups of features that form the structure of the concept of “time”.

The article deals with the motif of “madness” and “death” in the works by a Russian symbolist F. Sologub and a Chinese writer Lu Xun. In such works as “The Little Demon” and “Diary of a Madman” this motif appears most clearly, especially as the main characters and the world around them, which is hostile to man. “The persecution mania”, bestial-like people, painful weight of being, madness as the death of the reasonable and the good are the main images of the local world, in which there is only one form of life-existence - “madness”, the only means, according to A. Schopenhauer, “to save lives”.

Deformations in translation are considered as negative, distorting the original text. They can be a conscious translation decision, because for various reasons not everything is reproducible in translation and the achievement of a global goal is inevitably associated with losses. At the same time, some deformations are caused by insufficient preliminary work of a translator in clarifying the basic semantic, syntagmatic and grammatical models characteristic of the text and the language of the author.
