The article presents the classification of short questions (independent elliptic sentences) of the English language, selected from the texts of fiction of the Renaissance period (1480-1660). The classification is based on lexical and grammatical characteristics of the constructions. It is compared with with the classification of the attached questions, which was made earlier.
