It is noted that, despite the huge number of works devoted to various aspects of intertextuality, there is still great interest in this issue. The research analysis regarding the intertextuality issue allows the conclusion about several approaches to research it. It is emphasized that there are no strict limits between them, the elements of integration with other approaches can be found. It is also noted that a number of research works can hardly be referred to any of the mainstream.

The article deals with the issues of adaptation of foreign language vocabulary (by the example of Gallicisms) to the Russian language system, in particular its diversion potential. The semantic, derivational and word formative features are taken into consideration. It helps to find the system and structural context of loanwords in the Russian language.

The article deals with the issue of reflection of the concept of speed in terms of the category of movement in dialectal speech. The material showed that adjectival representatives of the concept of speed with the semantics of ‘quick’ / ‘slow’ give a qualitative or functional characteristic of living things of the world, natural facts, artifacts. Meanwhile the concept of speed is inseparable from the basic category of movement in the language world picture.

The article deals with the category of modality in the English psychological discourse, the features of modality expressive means in psychological texts in the English and Russian languages are under consideration. The authors find out the dominant and most appropriate means of interpretation of the English psychological discourse in Russian, the structural and semantic matching of modality means in the original and in translation based on the works by D. Carnegie and other authors.

The article deals with the value component of the concept “memory” in the work by Steve Watson “Before I Go to Sleep”. The research is based on evaluative statements of the main character who partially lost her memory, actualizing negative feelings of a person unable to keep the information in mind. As the result the evaluation meanings that form the value component of the concept can be revealed.

The article deals with the origins and development of Arabic script writing in Dagestan. The role of Ajami script in the development of national languages and literature, as well as the attempts to write in their native language adapting the Arabic alphabet to the phonetic features of the Dagestan languages are under consideration in the article.

The main functions of reminiscences are specifying, aesthetic, expressive. Language pun is frequently used in the narrative story by W. Raabe. Reminiscences are its component. Their application allows representing the language portraits of the characters, showing their intellectual and cultural level, as well as their social status.
