The article deals with language means of argumentation in German and Russian tourist prospectuses, which represent one of the most popular genres of tourist discourse. In the course of the analysis, language means of argumentation which have an emotional impact on the addressee are determined. The features of Russian and German tourist texts are described, their similarities and differences are revealed.

The aticle is devoted to the study of the linguistic slang phenomenon which is considered to be a means of creating a speech portrait of German youth in fiction. The material of the study is the youth thriller “Die quietly, my angel” by A. Goetz. The author identifies and describes the main lexical components of a speech portrait of German youth in a thriller.
