The article deals with the theoretic approaches to development of the issue of criteria and signs of efficiency of extracurricular activities in development of general professional competences of higher school students. The authors characterize extracurricular work as an innovative block of the system of educational work at a modern higher school. The complex of criteria of development of the competences under consideration is represented in two groups of results. Each group is characterized in details.
