The comparative method revealed the drawbacks related to globalization. But in the epoch of “Europe centrism” overcoming in the domestic literature study it appeared to be, together with hermeneutics and receptive aesthetic, the most up-to-date in study of the Russian literature perception in the Arabic East. Based on the creative work by A.P. Chekhov, it is shown how a person and the creative work by a Russian writer “adapt” to the Arabic cultural thinking.

The space images of the story “In the Native Home” are regarded in the folklore and mythological aspect. The ambivalent meanings of “steppe” and “native home” start unexpected relations forming not only the fiction space of the story but also its composition and sense. The character of the story is absorbed with the steppe and lead into a deadlock. Hopes for a better life do not come true. That makes her dramatically accept the reality.
