There is for the first time carried out the comparative analysis of the original texts of George Crabbes poem fragments The Village (1783) and The Parish Register (1807) and their Russian translations made in the second half of the 1850s by N.V.Herbel. There are also analyzed the word-for-word translations of Crabbes poem fragments made by A.V.Druzhinin in the middle of the 1850s that in many respects became the basis of N.V.Herbels further interpretations.
