The article deals with the novels, which can be called “international” due to their wide spread around the world in terms of globalization processes. The ability of one national novel to penetrate into different cultural paradigms proves the blurred national cultural identity, the formation of a single global society and detraditionalization of relations. Detraditionalization also concerns gender roles in the mass literature. The article presents the examples of finding such masculine features as cruelty, strong-willed activity, freedom from public morality by modern female characters.
