The article presents the analysis of the angelic imagery in Nabokov’s early poems in line with its connection with mortality. It considers the opposition “bright angels vs fallen”, their portrait characteristics and functions (protection, meeting after death, introduction to temptation, intimidation, destruction, etc.). The compliance of Nabokov’s angelic imagery with the Christian canon is also analyzed in the article.
