In the first years after the collapse of the USSR, many new state entities emerged in the territory of the former Soviet Union. The article deals with the foreign policy reasons for emergence of states with limited recognition in the post-Soviet space. The goal of the study is to identify the key foreign policy factors and describe their impact on the process of formation of states with limited recognition.
