The article deals with the language means used to form the image of a Russian politician D.A. Medvedev in the texts of the English language press. The methods of constructing the image of a politician with regard to its linguistic component are under consideration. It is proved that in the structure of the image of the Russian politician in the English language press there are external characteristics, professional and personal qualities, which are actualized in the media texts in the aspect of the conceptual content, figurative and perceptive features of the politician, his evaluation characteristics.
