The article deals with the Russian fixed comparisons with the standards “boy, “kid” and “baby” against the background of their counterparts in the Chinese language to identify the similarities and differences of the bases of fixed comparisons with same models in the two languages, as well as the motivation of the choice of bases in the two linguistic cultures due to the universal features of boys and babies of any nationality and stereotypes of the speakers of the two languages.
