The article deals with planimetric tasks and their structure, which consists of three components: static, transforming and graphic. The following stages of skill development are under consideration: adaptation, orientation, stabilization. The article presents the substantial component of teaching students to analyze a planimetric task. The contents are a system of tasks designed in accordance with the structure of the skill.
