The article deals with the Chinese religious and philosophical system and its special syncretic character by the examples of P. Buck’s novels “The Good Earth”, “Peony”, “The Three Daughters of Madame Liang”. The author analyzes the religious and philosophical motives and symbols that play an important role in the construction of the imagological image of China in the works by P. Buck.
