The article deals with patriotism developed in the historical process - as past, present and future. It is the ratio of these forms of time that determines the “measure of relevance” of patriotism for this society and this epoch. In the dynamics of the patriotic process, the author proposes the mechanism for development of new problems of society, transition from past to present through particular future in the aspect of patriotic understanding and mastering the reality.
