The article deals with the ways of functioning of verbs of motion in comparison with the Russian language. There are the following categories of verbs of motion in the Evenki language based on semantics: 1) the direction of motion without a purpose (moving in the snow, the mountains, abstract concepts of motion); 2) targeted motion; 3) motion characteristics; 4) motion on the earth, water etc.
