The article deals with organization and methodology of students’ research work at an integrated Russian language and literature lesson. It describes the etymological nature of the terms “study”, “investigation”, “research” and a category place of students’ research work in the system of school education. The authors identify the components of research work of students, which are problem-based learning, business gameand research work. The positive aspects of organization of students’ research work in the classroom, the methodological techniques and approaches to its implementation are under consideration.
