The article deals with thegeneral conceptual approaches to the model of a specialist of the XXI century through the analysis of the required competences. Special attention is paid to the professional pedagogical competence as a set of socio-psychological, psychological and pedagogical, subject-related, communicative competences. The criteria of its formation level are under consideration.
