The article deals with the question-answer unity as an element of the pragmatic structure of the situation of deception. The following issues are under consideration: the meanings of the terms “dialogue”, “question-answer unity”, the difference between them, research of various authors, as well as the theme of deception and false messages. The author’s attention is focused on the features of the implementation of deception in communication (by the examples of the dialogues from the works by French authors).
