The article deals with the words of the Arabic origin. The author applies the thematic typology that allows finding out in the Russian language the Arabic loanwords meaning “plant” (thematic group “Plants and animals”, subgroup “Plants”). The lexemes ко́фе , сандáл , тарху́н, хна that are familiar to native speakers of Russian and actively function in speech are under consideration in the article.
