The article deals with the influence of Dostoevsky’s work on the cinema of Asia. The novel “Crime and Punishment” is regarded as a source of ideas and images of the contemporary film culture. The ethical problems of Dostoevsky that influenced the creative work of directors of China and the Philippines are under consideration in the article.
