The article deals with the socially oriented activities of the Krasnoyarsk city Duma in the period from August 1914 (the beginning of World War I) to July 1917, when the elections to the Duma resulted in electing Bolshevik Y.F. Dubrovinsky as the Chairman of the Krasnoyarsk Council. The article emphasizes the use of journals of the meetings of the Council as a major historical source.

The article deals with the domestic experience of working with migrant children; the didactic conditions of adaptation of these children are described in the article. The authors propose the idea of implementation of the complex of pedagogical conditions for successful sociocultural adaptation of migrant children in the polycultural environment of the basic secondary school. The concepts of “adaptation”, “sociocultural adaptation” and “pedagogical conditions” are under consideration; the features of migrant children are found out and described.
