The article deals with the escapes of Japanese prisoners of war from the camps located on the territory of the USSR (1945-1956) as described by Russian and foreign researchers. The author represents the historiographical analysis of the works of researchers from Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Switzerland, Japan, published in 1992-2017 and concerning the escapes of Japanese prisoners of war from the camps located on the territory of the Soviet Union.

The article represents Russian and foreign research results regarding clothing of Japanese prisoners of war in the camps in the territory of the USSR (1945-1956). The author represents a historiographical analysis of the works of historians from Russia and a number of researchers from Ukraine, Switzerland and Japan, published in 1994-2017, which cover the issues of clothing of Japanese prisoners of war in the Soviet Union.
