The article deals with the features of the derivation (structural and semantic) processes that underlie the derivation of prepositions and conjunctions, and describes cognitive models of secondary nominations underlying the derivation of prepositions and conjunctions in modern English. The process of internal and external interaction of prepositions and conjunctions is under consideration.
