The article deals with the linguocultural character types “ГОРЕЦ / HIGHLANDER”. The author carries out the comparative analysis their value and semantic component. The appeal to axiological paradigm of the study of the linguocultural character types by the material of Russian and English literary texts by M. Lermontov and W. Scott, who belonged to one historical period, allows making a conclusion about a certain proximity of the two cultural and linguistic, value and sense pictures of the world.
