First World War period in formation and development of the Russian avant-garde
The article deals with the formation and development of the Russian avant-garde in art during the period of Russia’s participation in the First World War (1914-1918) and the influence of war on the development of the “left” movement in art. It describes the participation of artists in military events and the attitude of artists to the war. The influence of war on the content of their work and the participation of avant-garde artists in propaganda activities are under consideration in the article.

The Battle of Stalingrad in Soviet and post-Soviet cinematography
The article deals with the films of the Soviet and post-Soviet periods devoted to the Battle of Stalingrad. It is traced how military and historical feature films reflect the transformation of the collective memory of society about the events which changed the course of the Russian and world history. The authors reveal the potential and significance of this kind of film and photo documents for preserving the historical memory and expanding its social framework.

The reflection of the Stalingrad battle in photographs of wartime (on materials of the documentation center of the recent history of the Volgograd region)
The article deals with the analysis of more than seventy photographs from the funds ofZNIWO, thatreflect different aspects of the Battle of Stalingrad: the military heroics, the everyday life of the civilpopulation, the material losses of the city during the war years. The potential and relevance of this type of the audiovisual sources for the preservation of the historical memory and expanding its social framework are under consideration in the article.
