The article deals with the historical songs of Oirats of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous region of China, published in the quarterly popular scientific magazine “Xan Tenggri”. Shuna-Batyr and Ubashi Khan, praised in the historical songs,are real people who lived at some certain period of time. The texts of poetic folklore have been translated from the “clear letter”into the modern Russian language.
