The article deals with the issues of psychological and pedagogical training of a vocalist student for a concert performance, which is not only the result and the culmination of the long work on the concert programme, but also an indicator of the quality of the performance, vocational and pedagogical training at the university.

Means of theatrical pedagogy in the process of professional training of a vocalist teacher
The article deals with the theatre pedagogy in the process of professional training of a vocalist teacher. The artistry of a vocalist teacher is regarded as a complex of stage adaptability and emotional “contagion”, as well as the quality characterizing the level of professional skills - “character consciousness”. The formation of a complex of professional qualities of a vocalist teacher can be ensured by the unity of means of musical and theatrical pedagogy.

Relevance of art theory by R.G. Collingwood in the context of vocational training of a music teacher at a higher school
The modern condition of the music culture, associated with the transfer of music works to the status of media information, emphasizes the issue ofthe specific nature of art and the opposition of art and “non-art”. This issue is of special importance in the process of selection of the musical material offered by a teacher to modern schoolchildren at music lessons and in extracurricular musical activities, in accordance with the criteria of true art. The grounds for understanding of these criteria are philosophical and aesthetic concepts of the past, in particular in the theory of R.G. Collingwood.
