The article deals with the mental foundations of fatherhood in linguistic and cultural legacy. The author describes a three-part semantic decomposition of the proverb fund of the Russians in the field of thisthematic (sayings of didactic orientation, “fixer sayings”, “paradoxes”). Based on the analysis results,the author proposes the idea of practical application of forming pedagogical work with father’s teams.

The article deals with the search for value and meaning and practical guidelines of fatherhood described by the author as the problematic segment of modern family education. The information about the aspects of research of fatherhood phenomenon is under consideration in the article. The monographic analysis of the pedagogical heritage of A.S. Makarenko is carried out; based on this analysis the original topology of the guidelines of paternal education is summarized.
