The article deals with the research results regarding the issues of evaluation of methodological competence of physics teachers aimed at finding out the professional difficulties of teachers in accordance with the requirements of the professional standard “Teacher”. The evaluation of formation of methodological competence is based on personal and motivational, cognitive, active and behavioral criteria. The diagnostic tools are described, the levels of development of methodological competence are characterized; they are basic, optimal and creative.
