The article deals with the study of the plot of M. Bond’s fairy tale “A Bear Called Paddington”. The following phases are under consideration: the phase of isolation (arrival of the main character and his characteristics in the category of a chosen one), the phase of partnership (Paddington’s relations with the members of the Browns’ family, as well as the situation of the “improper” behaviour that turned into a triumph), the liminal phase (the character’s deadly test anticipating the final phase of transformation in the new quality of life).

The article deals with the world picture in the story by N. Luginov “Kustuk” that consists of the systems of the internal (the character’s mind) and external (the surrounding world) chronotopes and includes the categories of top and bottom, close and distant, closed and open space, as well as life and death, light and darkness, present, past and future, immediate and eternal time.
