The article deals with the first decades of establishment of the regional broadcasting by the example of the Stalingrad (Volgograd) region. The difficulties and achievements in the process of TV centre building, programme schedule, viewers’ feedback are described. The role of state and party organs in the organization of local broadcasting is emphasized in the article.
