The article deals with the notion of “locativity” which is a common phenomenon in language and has a big variety of expressive devices. The author describes one of the main devices of expression of this category in the Erzya and Finnish languages- the verb, marks out the semantic groups of verbs that have the meaning of locativity, and givesthe examples from Finnish and Erzyafiction literature.
