The article compares the modern views on argumentation in interpersonal discussion from the point of its efficiency. The rhetoric analysis of the fragments from the works of the English classical and modern fiction literature allows making the conclusion that the efficiency / non-efficiency of communication is revealed over the limits of discussions. Emotional arguments are the means to achieve speaker’s goal.
