The article deals with the analysis of the use of traditional methods of teaching physics to 1 and 2 year students of a technical higher school. The authors mark their drawbacks regarding laboratory classes and reveal the necessity for the search of the ways to modernize the approaches to education. As the way to improve it the authors suggest using the method of immersion in organization and conducting of laboratory classes at a technical higher school, as well as analyze the results of the research in the use of this method based on the Ufa State Aviation Technical University.
