The new law on education in the Russian Federation considers students with special educational needs who master the programme longer then it is standardized. Systematic collaboration of teachers and students in overcoming educational difficulties of future engineers should be carried out within the system of adaptation of students with special educational needs to study at a technical higher school. The article deals with the analysis of the pedagogical process of adaptation of such students to study at a technical higher school and includes the scheme of adaptation collaboration of its subjects.
