The article deals with the metaphoric city models in the professional discourse of Russian and American architects. The comparative analysis shows that the discourse of Russian architects includes frequent medical metaphors that associate a city with a sick organism; American architects interpret a city as an anthropomorphic essence with features and properties of a human.
