The article deals with the component structure of the historical discourse in the paradigm of the institutional discourse. The historical discourse is regarded as an independent variety with specific features. The article covers such pragmalinguistic characteristics of the historical discourse as the features of communicative situation, communication participants and their aims, strategies characteristic for the historical discourse.
