There are determined and revealed the pedagogic ideas of a famous domestic pedagogue and public man of the second half of the XIX century I.M. Radetsky: protection of children’s life and health, care for their education and training, improvement of teacher’s financial state, increase in the number of educational institution, pedagogical editions, libraries, donations to education, increase in students number, competence level etc. There is substantiated the humanistic orientation of the ideas by I.M. Radetsky, which makes a contribution to the development of the humanistic pedagogy, non-violence pedagogy.
