There are considered the figurative characteristics of the type “young wizard” as the variety of the fantastic linguocultural type “wizard” based on the English texts of the fantastic genre. There are determined the most important signs of the type: his appearance agrees with the prophecy, he doesn’t know about his uniqueness till some certain moment, has some distinctive signs, meets a tutor, has an antagonist; a young wizard usually possesses fighting magic.
