There are considered the peculiarities of allusion and the applied figures of application and epitrope in the epigrams by V.I. Gaft. There is revealed the idiostylistic specificity of the methods, emphasized the specific character of the author’s convergence of allusions.

There is considered the functioning of the category of the ambiguous speech in the genre of epigram. There is made the classification of epigrams by the intention expressing type in the text, clarified the possible elocutive means of speech ambiguity specific for the genre, revealed the correlation of various figures and peculiarities of expressive contact of the epigram with some other genres.
