There is characterized the role of parametrical adjectives in dictionary descriptions of animals. There is shown that the most particular belongs to the adjectives large and small, which note both the general impression of the animal and its particular features. There are discussed the issues of parametrical standards, graduation and place of parametrical adjectives in the attributive line.
