There is analyzed the repeated nomination as the means of expressing the emotional state of the characters in the stories by Tatiana Tolstaya. There are revealed the most frequent emotions expressed by repeated nomination: disappointment, joy, excitement, fear, anger.

There are revealed the functions of repeated nomination, its role in a fiction text. There are opposed the notions “emotionality” and “expressiveness” as the phenomena that have different functions.
