There is suggested the historical and etymological description of some concepts of the German term sphere of the engineering psychology – a scientific discipline that studies the objective regularities of the processes of informational interaction of a man and technical means with the aim to use them in the practice of projecting, creating and exploitation of the systems “man – machine – environment”.
